We always know when its officially nearing the holiday season when Halloween Bingo begins making its round on your dashboard.
For those who know me you know what that means for my blog page. My Holiday series of whacky holiday involved photos begin to make an annoying impression. (Haha)
Last year my blog's holiday theme was Vintage Halloween and Vintage Christmas.
I'd re-share some posts just for fun but my image source page ran out and the images were lost :( Bummer. But I got a new source and new images for the holidays!
Get in line....
This years Halloween posts have a new theme. From cutesy to creepy ...
Haunted Houses are on the rise!
Coming Soon...
Ever wish there was a moment you could just scour from your memory? Just delete it from your cerebellum? Yeah. I just had one of those.
There was a knock on my door and in less than a minute this is every emotion the insanely inappropriate person made me feel.
Its no secret I have a small obsession with bookshelves. Seriously. I could explore people's bookshelves all day long and I don't care how mundane they are. I love seeing other people's book collections. I have many pictures of other people's shelfies that I love so I wanted to share them with you as well. Here we go!

Renee "Ren" Miller was five when her Dad left to go to the shops and never came back.
Left to grow up with a cancer riddled mother, things have never been easy for a teenager who had to be wise beyond her years. Then one day they lose the battle and she’s all alone.
Now twenty-two, Ren reluctantly goes to find her estranged father. He owns the down and out boxing studio, Beat, and Ren finds herself drawn to the ring. She thrives on learning a new way of fighting a life that kept kicking her down…instead of struggling against the current, she kicks it right between the legs.
Then one day, Ash Fuller, her Dad's star fighter comes back to town. Mysterious, handsome… Dangerous… Everything Ren doesn't need.
But he's got other ideas…
…and so does she.
Beat had some good parts and... it had some other parts... Most of it was drama involved other was the whole broody vs angsty vibe. I'm not sure which kind of got on my nerves more. After awhile I kind of felt like okay, I get it.
Along with the sweaty panty sexual not so sexual attraction obsession which leads to some hot not so hot encounters and a questionable scene which didn't quite sit well with me. There was a lot of wish wash non investment with the h/h and after awhile I didn't really care if they overcame their issues which - cliffhanger - ugh, never really is answered.
Beat was okay I just don't think I was really in the mood for it.

Eight seconds...
That’s all Rex Kingsley wants. Eight seconds on the back of Bodacious, the most feared bull in the PBR. Two years ago, the massive bull threw him and stomped him into the sands of the Tulsa Rodeo in front of ten thousand spectators. Rex survived. Barely. Now his single goal is to conquer the bull touted as “unbeatable.” No bull rider has lasted eight seconds on Bodacious’ back for over five years. Rex aims to break that streak, and his lofty ambition leaves no room in his life for a woman.
Until Kimber...
Kimber Adams just wants to celebrate her birthday with friends. A few drinks. Maybe a spin on the dance floor. But when she falls into Rex’s arms, literally, her plans change. She and Rex share a night of passion but the handsome cowboy wants more. Kimber’s no stranger to the perils of bull riding, though. She makes it clear that Rex needs to choose between eight seconds on Bodacious or a lifetime with her.
I'd just like to take a minute to rub this novella in the faces of all the readers out there who don't follow author web pages and newsletters.
Heh, okay I had my fun.. Seriously though, if you're a fan of Erin Wright or if you haven't read her books before you still have a chance to get a copy of Stampede of Love as well.Just sign up to follow her newsletter and your copy will be emailed to you.
Don't forget just because its a free book doesn't mean that it doesn't need love like the rest.
That being said Stampede of Love is one of those kismet love stories. No matter what goes on the h/h are drawn together by fate no matter what their intentions are. Its rather cute and fun its a quickie but that doesn't mean that Kimber and Rex can't have a HEA. I rather liked Rex as a character he was irritating but he was seductive and despite a few flaws he's one of those guys you can't say no to even if you want to.

He was a Navy SEAL, a damn good one. It was all he knew how to be, until the fateful day that changed everything.
Jackson Archer’s life, and the lives of the men under his command, was changed forever that day in Tripoli. Medically discharged from the SEALs and silenced by a corrupt mission commander, he sinks into a deep depression.
Until reporter Annica Lawson starts asking questions.
She seems to know all about what happened that day—to him, Tansy, Jasper, and Matthias. Things Jackson’s never told anyone outside of his command. The sexy reporter awakens things in Jackson, things he thought were maybe dead for good.
Annica offers them a chance to tell their story, to clear their names. But is she really after the truth, or is she working for those who want to silence them for good?
Broken hero JA is damaged goods, has a story to tell, and a confession to make. Of course it has to take the right girl to drag it out of him before he'd ever risk anything including the lives of his men by exposing their past deeds. Luckily there's someone to bat their lashes at him. JA crumbles instantly. Thank god he's not a prisoner of war or he'd be in deep shit including the men under his command. But its a sloppy wet kiss romance kind of thing and as they say the truth will out - even if its by the nosy reporter who will do anything to uncover it.

Title: Immurement
Series: Undergrounders

The year is 2069. Sixteen-year-old Derry and her brother live in perpetual fear of capture. They survive underground on a post-apocalyptic earth overrun by gangs and clones, and hunted overhead by mysterious hoverships. When her brother goes missing, Derry’s only hope of finding him is to strike a deal with a group of cutthroat subversives. Desperate to save her only sibling, she leads a daring raid to uncover the secrets behind the Sweepers’ hoverships, but she soon finds out the world she knows is a lie.
So it wasn't bad, it wasn't great. I felt like I read it before but most YA dystopian books are nearly interchangeable these days.
Cut and paste most of the basics change a few minor details and you basically have the same story with the same character traits and plot lines.
I think Immurement stands a better chance with someone who isn't burned out on these kind of reads.
But as for me I think I might have gotten a little too much of the YA teen angst love angle involving a young heroine who is supposed to be a lot braver and stronger than she actually is who is willing to sacrifice what should be important for a more than obvious compulsive obsession with a boy.

Title: Bad Girls from History: Wicked or Misunderstood?
Series:
Cover Rating:
Book Rating:
Buy This Book:
You won't be familiar with every one of the huge array of women featured in these pages, but all, familiar or not, leave unanswered questions behind them. The range is extensive, as was the research, with its insight into the lives and minds of women in different centuries, different countries, with diverse cultures and backgrounds, from the poverty stricken to royalty. Mistresses, murderers, smugglers, pirates, prostitutes and fanatics with hearts and souls that feature every shade of black (and grey!). From Cleopatra to Ruth Ellis, from Boudicca to Bonnie Parker, from Lady Caroline Lamb to Moll Cutpurse, from Jezebel to Ava Gardner.
Less familiar names include Mary Jeffries, the Victorian brothel-keeper, Belle Starr, the American gambler and horse thief, La Voisin, the seventeenth-century Queen of all Witches in France but these are random names, to illustrate the variety of the content in store for all those interested in women who defy law and order, for whatever reason.
The risque, the adventurous and the outrageous, the downright nasty and the downright desperate all human (female!) life is here. From the lower strata of society to the aristocracy, class is not a common denominator. Wicked? Misunderstood? Nave? Foolish? Predatory? Manipulative? Or just out of their time? Read and decide.
Bad Girls From History is interesting less what I expected but still decent to read if you want some basic detail profiles on many notorious women in history. Most of them misunderstood, others given a bad reputation brought onto them by men as usual others who actually are quite bad and enjoyed being so.
I wish there had been more history explored about these characters and more information provided about their lives, who they were what their backgrounds are unfortunately its lacking in depth exploration. Most the information on the women mentioned can easily be found online. Still its nice to get them all in one place and I liked that some of them included images of the women mentioned.

Some boundaries are made to be crossed…
A rare Vedjorn bear shifter, Eric Mikkelson lives on his own terms. So allying with wolf shifters, even gorgeous Julia Jacobs, bristles his loner instincts. But Eric must protect his infant son from the dangerous shifter cult stalking him. However, keeping JJ at arm's length proves nearly impossible. She gets under Eric's skin, exposing them to new risks as their staggering attraction defies Pack laws, and JJ's own dark secrets fester between them.
When the safe haven of their shifter-friendly town is violated, lying low is no longer an option. Julia and Eric must embrace the power of their inner beasts, even if it means sacrificing their forbidden bond.
I've been a fan of Karen Whiddon for so long that every time I read her books it feels like I'm coming home. I was thrilled when I got to read a copy of Her Guardian Shifter - Whiddon wins with her shifter romance. The crazy from page one to the last keeps you going even when both you and JJ are thinking Oh, hell no.
Between the relationship drama, the community drama and the personal drama there's some serious issues for both JJ and Eric to work through. The worst of it is that there's a child involved. I'm impressed that despite being a parent Eric manages to juggle all his issues, his wants and the crap that comes with his package once he and JJ begin their involvement.
Turn off your marathon of Housewives whoever and read Her Guardian Shifter. Drama is afoot in this book.
