Movie Night: Dracula Untold
As his kingdom is being threatened by the Turks, young prince Vlad Tepes must become a monster feared by his own people in order to obtain the power needed to protect his own family, and the families of his kingdom.
I have a serious girl crush on Luke Evans but this wasn't one of his better films as much as I hate to say it.
There is a lot of potential in this film but its hard to pin point why this movie really wasn't much of a success to me.
I think I was more intrigued by the last scene in the movie than I was the entire film.
They could have done this movie entirely different without the bat stuff or the meeting of the vampire on broken tooth mountain and still had a great background story to tell and decent battle scenes to include along with the under lining romance as well and it still would have been just as good if not better. Granted a lot of people love the vampire myth but I would have been just as content to see Vlad as a man - just a man without all the extra stuff and I probably would have liked it just as much.
There have been a lot of rumors going around about whether the company that made the film plans on doing a prequel or sequel seeing as how they left enough in the story for them to do either one.
The only issue I could see being an issue is that the story could really go anywhere and there's no way of knowing whether the investment in a movie would be worth it or not or if they would be better off doing a television series instead but I don't see that really being worth the investment either.
Dracula Untold was good for the sake of my seeing Luke Evans without a shirt on but as a movie I could go either way.
