I enjoyed Rescue Me more than the first book Shelter Me. I enjoyed the characters more and I enjoyed the journey more. I think that the novels can be read in order or as a stand alone even though they all connect. Rescue Me felt more emotional and more deeper and more intense than the first book and I felt that Catherine did a wonderful job successfully creating a story that can redeem both her characters and her readers. I really enjoy her writing and I can't wait for the next installment.
