Palmetto Moon
I received a print copy from Berkley in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed reading Palmetto Moon, there just aren't enough books these days that write about strong female characters that take charge of their lives and stand outside of what their social circles say should be done. I really enjoyed the fact that Vada knew what she didn't want and took the initiative to do something about it by taking herself out of the equation. Its a great thing getting to see her stand on her own and find her way as many of us in the real world have had to do. What I liked best was getting to see her have to face her past and decide where she was truly meant to be. Was she meant to leave or meant to stay?
Palmetto Moon is well written and written from a genuine place emotionally where you don't have to worry about false pretenses. I absolutely enjoyed it.
